Vomiting is the symptom that can indicate a va-riety of diseases, from gastro-intestinal tract (gastri-tis, ulcer, foreign body, neoplasm, etc.) and other abdominal organs, which include diseases of the liver and gallbladder. In the study the dogs with toxic hepatitis were considered, one of leading symptoms of which was vomiting. The data of ani-mals were divided into 3 groups. Animals were di-vided into 3 groups. In the first group the standard scheme of treatment was applied. In the second group they additionally received the inhibitor of the proton pump (omeprazole) at a dosage of 2 mg/kg intravenously 2 times a day 3-5 days later in the form of capsules peros 2 mg/kg 2 times daily for up to 14 days. In the third group of dogs 2 times a day, further in the form of capsules of peros 4mgkg 2 of time a day till 14 days were appointed omeprazole (in the same dosages, as in the second group) and ranitidine (histamine blocker of H2-receptors) of 4 mg/kg intravenously. A comparative assessment of the application as an additional method of therapy in dogs with vomiting proton pump inhibitor and the blocker of histamine H2-receptors, established the cessation of vomiting during the first two days, which contributed to more rapid recovery of physio-logical functions of dogs such as appetite and mo-tor activity.
