Organic matter in surface waters of geothermal fields in the Russian Far East

The author has made the analysis of organic compounds in surface waters of geothermal fields in the Russian Far East. It is revealed 62 organic compounds that belong to 11 homologous series. There prevail steroids, aldehydes, carboxylic acids, esters and terpenes. Most of the organic compounds are of natural origin, excepting isobutyrates. Therefore, the present study shows the absence of contamination in the areas under investigation.
