Organization and execution of pre-trial investigation in the Tyumen lower territorial court in the second half of the XVIII century

Organization and execution of pre-trial investigation in the Tyumen uyezd (district) of the late XVIII century were carried out by the territorial court. The judges performing the functions of investigators accumulated professional experience in the course of practical activities (collection and double-checking of facts and evidence, analysis of individuals’ actions, pronouncement of preliminary conclusion). The paper reconstructs the fragments of the accidents chronicle in the Tyumen uyezd of the period.
