The organization of medical service and work of World War II foreign prisoners in Western Siberia in 1943 - 1948 (on the materials of Altai region)

In the article the problems of organization of medical service and work of World War II foreign prisoners in concentration camps and hospitals located in Altai region are examined. In this connection, we also studied some factors of foreign prisoners' living conditions, regime, specific features of the work they did, causes of deaths and relations between local Siberian population and foreign prisoners of war. There were war prisoners of more than 20 nationalities in Western Siberia. The article is based on numerous archival documents, local Siberian people's recollections, which are used for the first time.
