Pharmacological support for HIV children

Teenagers’ awareness about HIV problem was studied by questionnaire survey. The data obtained during the study showed that the level of teenagers’ awareness on such an important disease is insufficient. The results of the conducted studies should be used to develop an information program for the schools in order to better inform the teenagers about this disease. The studies indicate that HIV-infection incidence among children increases year by year, but thanks to the developed therapy, HIV-infection from an absolutely fatal disease passed into a group of diseases that, like diabetes, require constant drug treatment. The same studies highlighted that children who did not receive antiretroviral therapy, die in the future of complications associated with HIV-infection. Both treatment and prevention measures require early introduction and dissemination of the information on HIV-infection and the methods to control it.
