Organization of medical and social assistance to orphans with mental disabilities

The results of the randomized survey of 140 orphaned children (76 boys and 64 girls), brought up in foster families and of 32 orphaned children raised in orphanages showed a high level of significance of three groups of disorders: speech disorders, combined specific developmental disorders and hyperkinetic disorders. An optimal model of medical psychological and social pedagogical assistance to orphaned children with mental disorders from foster families was developed on the basis of the received data. The proposed complex medical and preventive programs allow to render timely, high-quality assistance aimed at preventing further development of pathology, social disadaptation and primary prophylaxis of disadaptation occurrence in the condition of foster families.
