Organization of the initial stage of investigation of crimes related to non-payment of funds for the maintenance of children or disabled parents

Introduction: the article discusses certain aspects of the initial stage of the investigation of crimes related to non-payment of funds for the maintenance of children or disabled parents. The main investigative actions carried out at this stage are revealed, and attention is also focused on problematic situations that arise during criminal proceedings on crimes provided for in Article 157 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Literature review: the author analyzed and compared certain provisions of scientific literature, periodical issues as well as criminal case files on crimes relating to non-payment of funds for the maintenance of children or disabled parents. Materials and Methods: the results of the study are formulated by analyzing the materials of criminal cases on crimes related to non-payment of funds for the maintenance of children or disabled parents, as well as statistical data on the commission of these crimes. In the course of the study, general and private scientific, as well as special methods of cognition were used. Results: based on the results of the study, a classification of typical investigative situations arising at the initial stage of the investigation of crimes related to non-payment of funds for the maintenance of children or disabled parents is proposed, a set of investigative actions and procedural measures to resolve the versions of the investigation reasonably proposed by the author. Discussion and Conclusions: as a result of the study, a list of investigative actions and procedural measures is proposed to resolve the existing investigative situations of the initial stage of the investigation of non-payment of funds for the maintenance of children or disabled parents.
