Organization of fire protection, the Verkhneudinsk Irkutsk province in the last third of XVIII -the first quarter of the XIX century

Fire protection an important part of the protection of the welfare of society and the state as a whole. The purpose of the article is to review the history of the fire protection district town Verkhneudinsk. The sources of the study were published and unpublished archival materials, several funds State Archive of the Republic of Buryatia. Author thinks that the fire department of the city came together with the organization of military service in the fortress. Sources allowed the author to describe the state of fire protection of the city, state ministers, and set the state of the inventory. Play an important role as a police structure which has existed for a long time fire protection, and the commandant, and then the mayor control. In the end, the author came to the conclusion that the weak position of the city fire department to protect the lives and property of the population of the city at the turn of Verkhneudinsk XVIII-XIX centuries for economic reasons. But at the same time, the author points out that the technical level of fire protection Verkhneudinsk was generally on par with the county towns of the European part of Russia.
