The soil and atmospheric measuring equipment (SAME) automatically measures the meteorological parameters of the atmosphere and soil from a depth of 3,2 m to a height of 10 m. The temperature regimes of contrasting landscapes in different types of permafrost distribution in the Republic of Buryatia have been studied. The “mirror” regularities of the thawing processes in the permafrost soils of the Vitim plateau and the freezing in the seasonally frozen soils of the north of the Selenga middle mountain range and the Eastern Baikal region are established. Quantitative differences in the rate of freezing and thawing processes, duration of days with active temperatures, depending on soil types and distribution zones of permafrost types are revealed.
