The paper deals with the educational process arrangement in elementary schools in pre-revolutionary Yakutia. The author concludes that the elementary school curricula were designed for Russian schools; the peculiarities of studying the non-native language by the Yakut children were not taken into account. The Law of God was the core syllabus both in the ministerial and parochial schools. Classes in other subjects, especially in the parochial schools, served as a kind of additional curriculum. School educational activities were of moral and religious nature as well. Many schools did not consider the individual and age peculiarities of child development. The research emphasizes that, due to the heterogeneous schools and terms of study, elementary school curricula cannot be fully compared.
