Organized bases for the investigation of illegal arms trafficking using information and telecommunication networks, including the Internet

This article is devoted to the organizational bases of the investigation of illegal arms trafficking using information and telecommunication networks, including the Internet. The statistics of illegal arms trafficking in the Russian Federation for 2018-2020 are given. The factors influencing the accelerated development of crimes related to the illegal circulation of weapons and the use of the Internet are determined. In addition, the main ways of spreading illegal weapons via the Internet, ways to counter them, and further ways to improve organizational measures to combat crimes of this category are identified.
