The literature review presents the current views on the treatment of uterine cervix cancer. Due to the improvement in medical technologies, the problem of fertility preservation in patients with invasive uterine cervix cancer is currently successfully solved. Many specialized hospitals began to use organ-preserving surgery (extended trans-abdominal trachelectomy) for patients with stage IA2-IIB1 uterine cervix cancer. This surgical method allows the hormonal, menstrual and reproductive functions in cervical cancer patients to be preserved increasing no cancer risk. The problem concerning performing organ-preserving surgery for cervical cancer patients during pregnancy is being discussed. It allows the fetal vital activity and in some cases the further reproductive function of the patients to be preserved.
