Glavlit bodies and spectacle censorship in the Ural in the 1922-1940s

The article examines the work of Glavlit in the aspect of control over the content of the Ural repertoire theaters, cinema clubs and the philharmonic association. The author argues that by the end of the 1930s control over spectacles in the industrially developing region was not of a total character. In most cases, the work of censors over the repertoire was just a simple fixation of facts, statistics of staged in the areas plays, concerts and movies. This article was written on a wide range of sources, some of which are for the first time introduced to the scientific discourse.
