Justice in the Russian Federation: history, system, and main activities

The article deals with the history of the emergence and formation of judicial bodies in the Russian Federation in different periods of development of the state. The main directions, functions and tasks assigned to the Ministry of justice of the Russian Federation as the main body of justice are considered. Analyzed the competence and authority subordinated to the Ministry of justice of Russia Federal bailiff service and the Federal penitentiary service of Russia. The role and place of judicial bodies in the law enforcement system is defined.
