The article discusses the issues of changing the nature of the arms race after the collapse of the USSR. The reason for these changes, according to the author, was that the arms race of the twentieth century did not give the desired result: the USSR collapsed for internal reasons. Taking this into account, Russia's enemies have relied on the information war according to the method of A. Dulles, and the arms race has moved mainly into the field of electronic technologies. These technologies, in particular navigation, allow for sabotage, which can be explained by failures in technology. An even greater danger is posed by geophysical weapons, the consequences of the use of which can be explained by the vagaries of nature. This is the most dangerous weapon, because the results of its use can cause the death of the entire planet. The UN, therefore, faces the primary task of preventing its use.
