Errors and complications, occured while using the technique of bifocal distraction monosegmental osteosynthesis for congenitally shortened leg, were studied on the basis of large clinical material (73 patients, 83 segments operated). The measures were analyzed, which were used for stoppage of the complications occurred. It was demonstrated that in more than 3/4 patients the technique allowed to perform segmental lengthening without complications or with slight complications which didn't required surgical treatment. Despite higher rate of lengthening patients had no neurotrophic disorders of the distal limb parts, no marked contractures of adjacent joints were noted in the long-term period.
