The mistakes in differentiation of metaphor, metonymy and metaphtonymy

The article provides a critical analysis of the reasons for the difficulties in differentiating of metaphor, metonymy and metaphtonymy on the example of the works of well-known Western and Russian cognitive linguists. We also give our own method of practical differentiation of metaphor, metonymy and metaphtonymy, which is presented as a cognitive modeling of linguistic expression on a semantic-syntactic basis in the form of a conceptual interframe network (at the level of domain matrix).
