In Russia the second half of the XIX century was marked as the period of active spiritual and philosophic quest, when open and backroom discussions carried by Russian elites moved into the sphere of socio-political decisions. Russian journalism derived plenty of moral problems from the life experience of Russian people, bringing those to public discussion. The article deals with the role of “A Writer’s Diary” by F.
