Basic aspects of regulation of adoption practice in Russia and in the countries of the European Union

Purpose: A comparative analysis of the aspects of regulation of adoption practices in Russia and in the countries of the European Union. Methodology: We used a method of comparative analysis, a formal legal method. Results: This article analyzes the main features of the legal regulation of adoption practices in the Russian Federation and in the countries of the European Union. The existing differences in the legal regulation of adoption are revealed, the main obstacles that arise on the way of possible adoption and adoption of children - citizens of the Russian Federation by foreign citizens - are identified. It is emphasized that in the Russian Federation there is a tendency to further tighten the practice of adoption by foreign citizens, this position is shared by many lawyers, public and political figures. At the same time, attention is drawn to the similarity of many aspects of the legal regulation of the adoption of children in Russia and in the countries of the European Union. Novelty/originality/value: The article has considerable scientific value, as it highlights the actual topic of comparative analysis of the practice of adoption of children in Russia and in the countries of the European Union.
