The main objectives of the newspaper texts reading when teaching students of non-philological specializations

The matter of integration of foreigners into the Russian speech environment has always been topical, it has a complex character, and includes mastering speech habits in different forms of communication. The acquirement of the newspaper language is an essential factor of the foreign students’ verbal competence development. The modern newspaper is a direct reflection of the reality, synthesizing the various speech styles, carrying out convergence of the colloquial and bookish speech. During teaching of the newspaper reading the significant part play the linguistic component of the texts and technique of their giving, such as: using of unadapted newspaper texts; certain lexical structuring of the material; emphasizing of the main newspaper sub-styles; training in reading of the syntactically complicated texts; and development of the independent written and oral speech.
