The main factors determining extremism in the youth

Introduction: the article reveals the main criminogenic factors determining the manifestations of extremism among the youth. Materials and Methods: the general scientific method of general knowledge, system-legal, formal-legal, criminological analysis were used. The research materials were the development of foreign and domestic legal scholars, sociologists and political scientists regarding the issues of youth extremism. Results: the main determinants of modern youth extremism and ways to resolve the problems associated with its prevention are highlighted, based on the study of personality traits, as the central link in this criminological study. Discussion and Conclusions: on the basis of a comprehensive criminological study of the personality of participants, as well as leaders of extremist youth movements, both real and potential, the main factors that determine the criminal phenomenon in question were identified in order to further develop the most effective measures for its prevention.
