Major formats of social welfare and social protection of the population

The paper is aimed at the examining of the concept “social policy’, - its goals and objectives and priorities as well, principles and concerns of the social policy. The paper deals with analysis of general formats of social welfare services in the population of Russia, namely pension, benefits/ allowances, compensatory payments and social assistance. In addition to, the study specifies operation of public funds (both budget-funded and off-budget ones) allocating funds for the system of social welfare services in the country.
