Results, lines of investigation and outlook in selection of fruit and berry crops

The authors present the results and lines of investigations of selectional center and introduction-quarantine nursery organized All-Russian scientific research institute of fruit crops selection. The genofond of fruit and berry crops of Institute was investigated. The technologies for phytopathologic selection on infectious background and accelerated breeding of sorts with complex of economically important determinants were described. The results of realized programs «Immunity», «Polyploid», «Fruits and health», «Compact» and «Clone» were considered. The sorts of different fruit and berry crops selected by Institute were presented, which were admitted to use and suitable for adaptive intensive gardens. The new directions of breeding of fruit and berry crops were discussed.
