Key economic results German chairman of the EU Council

Germany's economic agenda during its presidency of the Council of the EU was realized in some of the most difficult periods of the European economic space. The article examines the results of the main economic initiatives in Germany. They relate to the policy of continuing structural change and seizing the opportunities initiated by the European Green Deal and the digitalization process. The article demonstrates that many initiatives have been aimed at strengthening a single internal market, which is the backbone of the sustainability of the European economy by factors of increasing the interdependence of countries. The corona crisis has accelerated the transition to a green, digital, sustainable economy. Structural policies have compensated for the deteriorating economic environment and increased the competitiveness of European regions for new challenges. The German presidency pragmatically set the goal of strengthening Europe as an innovation center for digital and environmental transformation and, step by step, achieve strategic economic autonomy for the continent in key economic and political issues.
