The main directions of countering economic crime in the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in the period of the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945

Introduction: the article describes the forms and methods of counteraction to economic crimes in one of the rear regions of Russia - the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). The influence of wartime on the appearance of new types of delinquency is analyzed, the characteristics of the main directions of combating crime are given: squandering, fraud, theft, speculation. Materials and Methods: the documentary sources stored in the funds of the State Archives of the Russian Federation, the Russian State Archive of Social and Political History, the State Archive of the Republic of Tatarstan, works and articles of Russian and republican historians for the period of the Great Patriotic War were studied and analyzed. In preparing the study, methods were used: comparative historical, historical genetic, logical, system-structural, hermeneutic. Results: The war worsened the socio-economic situation of the population, caused a shortage of food and consumer goods, provoked a sharp jump in prices in the market. In these conditions, the number of economic crimes has increased in the country. Archival documents testify to the facts of the theft of food and industrial goods, the distribution of centralized funds, the spread of speculation, etc., which have become more frequent in wartime. The suppression of this kind of deviation was part of the work of law enforcement agencies. Discussion and Conclusions: conclusions are drawn about the increase in the number of economic crimes in wartime. It is noted that, despite the severity of the personnel problem, the police conducted a lot of work aimed at counteracting and preventing economic crime. Compliance with law and order in the country in emergency conditions was undoubtedly important for strengthening the economic basis of the state and was a significant factor in the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
