One of the reasons for the insufficient development of agricultural enterprises, food and processing industries at the present time is the low availability of modern technological equipment, the need for which is satisfied only by 60-70%. Among the most important processes carried out at agricultural enterprises is the transportation and dosing of agricultural products, these operations are especially important in technological lines for the preparation of feed mixtures with the dosage of each component. There are many wellknown means of transportation with the possibility of dosing bulk materials, but this work mostly pays attention to screw devices. The experiments studied the operation of an auger in a complete set with a U-shaped casing. It is shown that the increase in the supply of such an auger in a horizontal design is not proportional to an increase in the filling coefficient of its casing: its 3-fold increase boosted productivity only by 2 times. It was found that this is due to the appearance of two layers in the cross section of the auger moving at different speeds in the flow of bulk material: one (active) with a higher speed within the section of the auger screw, and the other is in the casing above the screw with a slower speed. Calculated dependences have been obtained to determine the productivity Q of the auger under study with the possibility of using it as a dispenser of feed bulk materials, their pressure force N on the casing and the associated angle of elevation of the trajectory of the helix along which particles of this material move relative to the stationary casing. For augers operating in a U-shaped deep casing, the optimal performance value is achieved with a filling factor of ψ = 2,25 and a step value S equal to two auger diameters D.
