The main approaches to the activities of a living museum: a culturological analysis

The article presents an activity-based interpretation of the notion “living museum”. It is based on the analysis of the contradiction between the dynamic essence of culture and its static understanding, common for museums. The methodological basis of the research is the activity-based interpretation of culture, first of all, the concept of N.S. Zlobin. Starting from the dichotomy of reproductive and creative the author considers the established approaches to the definition of living museum and similar concepts, perceived as synonymous with it in modern discourse.
