Main principles of Canadian policy in the Arctic zone

The article is devoted to the state policy in Canada in the Arctic region. At present many states reveal an increasing interest to the Arctic region in the area of its exploration and exploitation of the resources dew to the new possibilities having been opened by the climate change. Based on the analysis of Canada’s main documents on foreign policy the article investigates the priority of the Arctic thrust of Canadian foreign policy as well as its attempts to strengthen its sovereignty there.
