It is determined that the key role in the success of the enterprise belongs to the head, whose style of management activity determines the realization of the labor potential of the staff. For the effective activity of personnel, it is necessary to organize work correctly, use adequate management methods, monitor labor behavior and activities. The conclusion is made that the manager must competently choose a model of his behavior, determine the way of his interaction with colleagues and subordinates in order to achieve a productive result in work. Models and approaches to the definition of leadership style in an organization are considered, including: Kurt Levin’s classification of leadership styles, Fred Fiedler’s model, Terence Mitchell and Robert House’s model, the model of Rensis Likert, the model of Robert Blake and Jane Mouton, the model of Yitzhak Adizes. The main conclusion of the researchers was that managers can focus on work and people at the same time, but the level of concentration on each of these parameters varies from time to time. They presented their complex “management grid” to the world, which classified various management options. It is determined that the leadership style is reflected in the socio-psychological characteristics of the team, it determines the level of motivation of employees, their attitude to work and among themselves.
