An annotated list of main terms and concepts used in the study and description of alien and synanthropic floras in the Russian scientific literature is presented. In some cases comments have been added to the terms, which contain the etymology of the names, interpretations used in foreign or domestic scientific literature, according to other classifications of alien plants. The questions about the need for the use of certain terms are discussed.
