Antioxidant therapy for patospermia

Бесплатный доступ

In 30-80 % of infertile men, pathospermia develops due to oxidative stress. Oxidative stress is an intracellular condition that reflects an imbalance between the production of reactive oxygen species (free radicals and peroxides) and the ability of cell to inactivate them with the antioxidant system (glutathione, ascorbic acid, tocopherol, carnitine, pentoxifylline, etc.). Antioxidant drugs are widely available and relativity inexpensive compared to other tools for infertility treatment; many health care professionals prescribe them to improve sperm parameters. The article describes the main types of antioxidant therapy for infertile men.
