Principles of forensic investigation of sexual violence against minors

Statistics on crimes committed against children showed that the vast majority of them were crimes against sexual integrity and sexual freedom. Such acts challenge the normal functioning of modern society, since the Russian State proceeds from the need to create safe conditions for the realisation of children's rights and legitimate interests, to prepare children for a full life in society, and to protect children from factors adversely affecting their physical, intellectual, mental, spiritual and moral development. Sexual abuse of minors is the most dangerous sexual offence. In this regard, forensic science should provide its recommendations for improving the investigation of this category. An important role in this is given to the forensic methodology, which contains algorithms of the investigator’s activity in typical situations of investigation.
