The article deals with the peculiarities of the organization of the process of physical training of police officers. Physical training is an independent section of service and combat training and the most important component of the professional skills of employees of the internal affairs bodies. It provides for the formation of professionally important physical qualities and service-applied motor skills, including combat fighting techniques and ways to overcome various natural and artificial obstacles. The analysis of the required physical qualities for police officers and the features of their formation, as well as the problems that will make the training process more effective, is carried out. A high level of physical fitness significantly affects such indicators as the detention of criminals, the coherence of the work of service and combat order groups, the maximum use of combat capabilities of weapons and equipment, the effectiveness of firing from combat weapons, resistance to the effects of adverse factors of service and combat activities, reducing losses during special operations and other damaging factors.
