The features of the bibliographic practice in modern conditions (considering municipal libraries of Buryatia)

The article considers the current condition of the bibliographic activity of the municipal libraries operating mainly in the rural areas of the Republic. A brief characteristic of the reference and retrieval apparatus, bibliographic production, bibliographic servicing in public libraries is given. The active methods of promoting bibliographic information including the Internet space alongside with the traditional directions of libraries’ work are actively used. At the same time, some differences in the quantitative indicators of the performance dependent on the local specifics are pointed out.
