The research presents the theological and religious studies, the historical and ethnographic as well as the ethnological materials relating to the life and the way of life of the Old Believers communities in the south-eastern part of Siberia (by a case study of the Republic of Khakassia). The author uses the unique references to the personal records of the conversations with the representatives of the Old Believers communities from the villages of Birikchul and Biskamzha. The Old Believers, as the founders of one of the most conservative paradigms of the social development in Russia, are an example of preserving traditions and adapting to innovations at the material, spiritual and social levels. Their marital and family relations as a whole retain their common roots with the pre-revolutionary traditions of the entire Russian Orthodox community and have a number of historically established differences described in this study. The research is of interest to both scientists and a large audience.
