Peculiarities of transosseous osteosynthesis according to Ilizarov during the treatment of multiple fractures in children and adolescents

The work deals with the problem of treatment of multiple fractures in children and adolescents. A brief clinical-and-statistical characteristic of 58 patients at the age of 5-16 years, being treated at our Centre for fractures of two, three and four segments, is presented. The peculiarities of transosseous osteosynthesis during treatment of such patients are discussed. The data of studying the long-term anatomic-and-functional results of treatment in this group of traumatological patients are given. The conclusion is made about high effectiveness of the Ilizarov technique for treatment of the above-mentioned fractures in children and adolescents.
