The purpose of this article is the main principles of the functioning of the Indian civil service on the territory of Burma in 1921-1937. This period is associated with serious changes in the political situation of the province. Under the influence of the British government, Burma withdrew from the Vice-royalty in 1937. Due to the obvious cultural differences and remoteness from the other subjects of British India, there has been formed a special administration system in the province. Lack of resources and active influence of the national movement had a significant impact on the apparatus of the colonial administration of Burma. The main content of the work is a detailed description of the administrative apparatus of the province and role of the Indian Civil Service in it. The author focuses on the role of this organization in the political confrontation of 1920-1930-s.
