The article considers the problems of assortment formation and management in commercial activities. Today, the heads of trading enterprises have to make difficult decisions on assortment management. However, traditional approaches are far from the real conditions of the market functioning and are becoming ineffective. The article identifies the features of product assortment management, as well as considers solutions in the field of assortment management in a retail company.
