Features of functioning of a word "network" in modern Russian language

The article is devoted to the study features of functioning of lexical units in modern Russian language, in particular the process of expanding the meaning of words. The results of the study of the lexeme "network" are presented in the article. The analysis of the dictionary articles devoted to this lexeme allowed the author to reveal the modern meanings of the given word. Then the frequency of using the lexeme "network" in one or another of the highlighted meanings was analyzed on the example of 100 contexts taken from Internet sources.
