Peculiarities and contradictions of professional socialization of modern student youth: the results of interregional social research

The article analyzes the specificity and contradictions of the professional socialization of students based on the results of interregional sociological research in 2016 «The contradictions and paradoxes of socialization of students in the conditions of transitive modern Russian society». The empirical basis of the research was also the data of monitoring studies «Socialization and education of students of higher educational institutions of the Rostov region» in 2006 and 2011. The article gives an analysis of the main motives for choosing a future profession, the influence of parents on professional choice, students' assessments of their own learning activity, attitudes toward the chosen direction of study, satisfaction with professional choice, motivation to attend training sessions. It also studies motives for studying social and humanitarian disciplines, the gender dimension of professional self-determination, the role of schools and families in the professional socialization of students, differing positions of students and teachers to assess the motives of vocational choice, quality and level of teaching, the learning process, and the role of traffic control.
