Features of the use of special knowledge as a part of the technique of investigation of crimes, related to extremism and terrorism

The relevance of the topic lies in the fact that in a difficult situation in the country, the growth of extremism and terrorism, the role of the use of special knowledge increases in investigation of crimes connected with terrorist and extremist activities. Therefore, the actual problems of using special knowledge in non-procedural and procedural forms are reviewed. The author analyses some features of the use of certain kinds of special knowledge in investigation of crimes related to terrorism and extremism. Forensic recommendations are developed for improving the quality of the use of special knowledge in conducting investigative actions and operational search activities. Special attention is paid to the evaluation of expert’s opinion by the investigator. The possibilities of increasing the level of forensic support for the process of formation of evidence base are shown. The author concludes that the study and consideration of the use of special knowledge will allow to improve existing means and to develop new ways of forensic and technical forensic ensurance of detection and investigation of crimes.
