The specificity of economic behaviour in China

The analysis of economic activities in People’s Republic of China allowed the author to specify the difference between the economic philosophy in the country and the “economic man” model which makes the modern formal economics. The most important factors are revealed to be the informality of relationships and adherence to your own word rather than to the letter of the contract. Personal connections and relationships (guanxi) play an essential role in forming the economic behaviour.
