Intestinal toxicosis is one of the most frequent variants of toxicosis that develops in young children (especially 1 year of age) with acute intestinal infections. It occurs as a result of a primary response to an infectious agent and due to significant losses of water and electrolytes with vomiting and loose stools. These losses exacerbate peripheral circulatory disorders and lead to progressive neurological disorders. Of great importance for the development of intestinal toxicosis are congenital metabolic diseases, hereditary and acquired immunodeficiency and associated sensitization as a result of repeated infectious diseases, chronic eating disorders, feeding defects.
