Cerebral palsy (Cerebral Palsy) is a set of syndromes that are a consequence of brain damage at different stages of its development. This is a non-progressive disease associated with structural changes in the substance of the brain, a characteristic feature of which is the predominant violation of the motor development of the child. Movement disorders in 10% of cases are combined with speech impairment, hearing impairment is observed in 25-30% of children, mental retardation occurs in 20-30%, speech disorders, especially sound pronunciation, are often detected (65-85%). Epileptic syndrome very often accompanies the course of cerebral palsy (up to 65%), and the syndrome of epileptic encephalopathy without obvious seizures is much more common in children under 9 years of age. It is this condition that sometimes does not allow for active rehabilitation therapy, increasing the convulsive threshold of the central nervous system; on the other hand, the presence of seizures or epileptic patterns on the EEG in functionally significant areas of the brain interferes with its proper functioning.
