The article discusses the mechanism of committing thefts from homes in the Crimean Federal District during holiday season. The author defines and analyses the factors specific for a resort region, which influence the mechanism of committing such crimes. The analysis of these factors is necessary for organization and planning of prevention, detection and investigation of thefts from homes in the resort regions of the Russian Federation.
