Specifics of gamers’ slang formation and functioning

The emergence of gamers’ slang is closely linked to the lifestyle of a modern man. The spread of computer games has a huge impact on it. The use of slang in literature and in colloquial everyday speech, mainly among young people, reaches high-level and is mostly difficult to understand for people who do not know the slang code. This paper researches features of structure, formation and functioning of gamers’ slang. The research methods include analysis of methodological literature on the research topic, interview, survey, observation, generalization, structural analysis, component analysis, contextual analysis, elements of psycholinguistic and sociolinguistic analysis.
