The effect of long-lasting caffeine administration of caffeine to pregnant female rats on the learning processes of the spatial orientation of their offspring was studied. At present, the problem of increasing the consumption of psychoactive substances, including caffeine, by pregnant women is becoming much more actual. The experimental group included males born from females who received throughout the pregnancy period a solution of caffeine as the sole source of fluid. The control group of animals included male rats, born from females, who during the whole pregnancy drank only bottled water. It was shown that rats prenatally receiving caffeine found an underwater platform in the labyrinth of Morris more quickly. The data obtained indicate that the administration of caffeine by pregnant female rats produce pronounced effect on the formation of spatial orientation in offspring.
