The article shows the influence of the orthostatic test on the indices of heart rate variability of 16 cyclists-sprinters (Master of sports) with different dominant types of vegetative regulation. Analysis and interpretation of physiological indicators was carried out in accordance with the recommendations of leading national researchers. The study was performed using hardware-software complex «VK 2.5-Varikard» and software «Iskim-6». The survey was conducted in the first half of the day before workout. Prior to the Active Orthostatic Sample (AOS), athletes with moderate autonomous regulatory dominance were found to be the most frequently tested athletes. After completion of the chosen gravitational load, the multidirectional responses of the cardiovascular system have been identified. It was found that the most pronounced shifts were observed among athletes with a moderate prevalence of both autonomous and central regulatory mechanisms. In the groups with a significant predominance of these management paths, the growth gradient was markedly lower. It has been shown that in subjects with I and III types of regulation the reaction to AOS was autonomous central; with II - central; and with IV - autonomous.
