Specificities of the fibula osteotomy during the correction of post-traumatic lower leg strain

In the period from 1997 to the present day, under the supervision there were 72 patients. In all cases osteotomy performed with chisel, correction and fixation was performed Ilizarov frames. Special attention is paid to the choice of the level and the optimization of the fibula osteotomy techniques. A complicating factor in the choice of the level of tibia osteotomy, was a tibiofibular synostosis, which was observed in 15 % of cases. In cases when there is a bone block in the middle third of the leg level, there is a need to cross two bones in upper third tibia. Wherein the less aggressive method of the osteotomy is osteoclasis after pre- reaming.
