The article is devoted to the features of the French political discourse and the identification of methods of influencing the addressee with the help of various stylistically expressive means in the publications of the newspaper “Le Figaro”. Various approaches to the definition of the concept of “discourse” are studied and specific characteristics of “political discourse” are highlighted. Based on the material of the newspaper “Le Figaro”, the analysis of the political discourse of the French media is carried out and its characteristic features are revealed.
